BGE hopes the 8/11 date on the calendar will serve as a natural reminder to call 811 prior to any digging project to have underground utility lines marked. Nationwide, every six minutes an underground utility line is damaged because someone decided to dig without first calling 811. To emphasize 811 Day in 2014, the building lights at BGE will be arranged to display an 811 pattern.
