Pemex Awards United Pipeline de Mexico $ 12.4 Million Pipeline Project
Insituform Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select Market: INSU) announced on 24th September that Insituform’s Mexican joint venture, United Pipeline de Mexico de C.V. ("UPM"), has been awarded a $12.4 million contract by the Mexican national oil and gas company Petróleos Mexicanos ("Pemex"). The contract includes the construction, replacement and rehabilitation of approximately 40 kilometers of pipelines in Mexico’s Chicontepec oil region. Insituform’s subsidiaries, Corrpro Companies, Inc. and The Bayou Company, Inc., will provide cathodic protection and field joint coating services for the project.

Isle of Grain Pipe Jacking: HOBAS© CC-GRP Pipes for Liquefied Gas
In addressing future demands for alternative supplies of gas, the UK has seen the construction of a number of new terminals for the importation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) one of which is sited at the Isle of Grain on the Thames estuary. For the most economic transportation of the gas it is cooled to achieve this liquid state and needs to go through a process of regasification for use in the UK gas grid. The latter process is no more than raising its temperature back to ambient. This requires heat and at the Isle of Grain this is being supplied by utilizing surplus heat from the existing Isle of Grain power station in the form of hot water. A twin pipeline system connects the station’s two plants, part of which is installed inside tunnels using HOBAS CC-GRP jacking pipes.

China: Herrenknecht-Mixshields set a new milestone during the Yangtze crossing
After the successful completion of the "Shanghai Changjiang Under River Tunnel Project", two further Herrenknecht Mixshield giants, each with a diameter of 14.93m, crossed beneath the Yangtze River. They reached their target in Nanjing on May 20 and August 22, respectively, after their underground journey of almost 3km. The "Nanjing Yangtze River Tunnel" with its three traffic lanes in each direction will ease the traffic load in this big city.

15,000th Ring Marks Milestone for Robbins Double Shield
Long-distance TBM nears completion of China's Pinglu Tunnel: Spanning over 10 years and 200 km (124 mi) of tunnel, China’s Yellow River Water Diversion Project can only be called epic. The latest installment of the extensive scheme, known as the Pinglu Tunnel, will be one of the world’s longest tunnels excavated with a single TBM. On July 9, 2009, the 4.8 m (15.7 ft) diameter Robbins Double Shield TBM boring the waterway set ring no. 15,000, making the tunnel nearly three quarters complete.
